Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Phoenix Hagen (13-3) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by fourth ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (11-5) 80-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Phoenix Hagen. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian point guard Elijah Miller (183-1997, college: UPEI) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Jannis Von Seckendorff (204-2002) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American swingman Jeffrey Carroll (198-1994, college: OK State) responded with 18 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Bremerhaven moved-up to third place, which they share with Crailsheim. Phoenix Hagen at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Bremerhaven is looking forward to face Karlsruhe PS (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Phoenix Hagen will play against Tuebingen (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Karlsruhe. Twelfth ranked Lions (7-9) saved a 2-point victory at home edging higher ranked Artland Dragons (10-6) 82-80 on Sunday evening. The winners were led by center Maurice Pluskota (209-1992) who scored that evening 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Isaiah Rayshaud Hart supported him with 19 points and 9 assists. Even 22 points by American-Syrian guard Amir Hinton (196-1997, college: Shaw) did not help to save the game for Artland. Artland Dragons' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Karlsruhe PS moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Tuebingen. Artland at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Karlsruhe PS will play against higher ranked Bremerhaven (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Artland will play against Bochum and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Nuernberg between RheinStars and Falcons. Sixteenth ranked RheinStars (6-10) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Falcons (8-8). RheinStars managed to escape with a 3-point win 95-92 on Saturday evening. Bjorn Rohwer fired 32 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Carter Whitt produced 18 points and 7 assists for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Koeln moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Bayreuth and Paderborn. Loser Falcons keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Bochum and Koblenz. Koeln will meet at home Bayreuth (#13) in the next round. Nuernberg will play against Muenster (#18) and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 16: Koblenz won against Bochum on the opponent's court 107-89. Crailsheim managed to outperform Tuebingen in a home game 83-75. Bottom-ranked Muenster recorded a loss to Goettingen on the road 81-63. Giessen 46ers crushed Wolmirstedt on its own court 95-66. Bayreuth beat Kirchheim in a road game 99-90. Leverkusen lost to Paderborn at home 73-84.



Bochum - Koblenz 89-107

There was a minor upset in Bochum where 8th ranked SparkassenStars (8-8) were defeated by eleventh ranked Koblenz (8-8) 107-89 on Friday. Koblenz made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. Koblenz outrebounded Bochum 36-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Koblenz looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard Calvin Wishart (188-1999, college: UCSB) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. The other American import forward Tim Smith Jr (201-2000, college: N.Alabama, agency: 011 Sports) chipped in 27 points. Koblenz's coach Stephan Dohrn used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Niklas Geske (188-1994) produced 16 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and American forward Dravon Mangum (203-2000, college: La Tech, agency: Olsta) added 21 points respectively for lost side.
