Szolnoki Olaj earned the Hungarian Cup title. They defeated Szedeak for the trophy tonight. Demajeo Wiggins (208-C/F-1997, college: BGSU) stepped up with 18 points to lead the charge.
Szedeak poured in 27 points in the first period to open a 4-point lead. The teams traded baskets throughout the second quarter. Szedeak arrived at halftime up by four points 47-43. But Szolnoki turned the tables after the big break. They unleashed 33 points in the third period to surge ahead. Szolnoki entered the final stanza up by 14 points and never looked back en route to the win. Strahinja Jovanovic (185-PG-1996) finished with 17 points in the victory. Ryan Woolridge (190-G-1996, college: Gonzaga) responded with 18 points for Szedeak. Brendan Bailey (203-F-1997, college: Marquette) had 17 points in the losing case.
