Semple's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

34-year old USA-FRAn forward Jordan Semple (201-F-1992) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team UMF Alftanes and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds, while his team outclassed IR Reykjavik (#7, 1-1) with 31-point margin 119-88. It allowed Alftanes to consolidate first place in the Icelandic league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Alftanes won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Semple had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He turned to be Alftanes' top player in his first season with the team.

Second best performed player last round was Hilmar Henningsson (195-G-2000) of Stjarnan. He is international guard in his 2nd season at Stjarnan. In the last game Henningsson recorded an impressive 29 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Stjarnan lost that game 98-103 to Hottur (1-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Henningsson is well-known at Stjarnan and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.0ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 6.0rpg and 6.0apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Bragi Gudmundsson (196-G-2003, agency: One Motive Sports) of league's second-best Keflavik IF. Gudmundsson showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Keflavik, leading his team to a 106-90 easy win against Sindri (#11, 0-2). Keflavik has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Gudmundsson also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Gudmundsson has a great season in Iceland. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.0ppg (9th best), rebounds with 9.5rpg (6th best) and assists with 6.5apg (6th best).
