Verona inks CJ Massinburg

- July 9, 2026

POSTED BY: Eurobasket News

Tezenis Scaligera Verona (Serie A2) has agreed terms with 29-year-old American shooting guard CJ Massinburg (190cm-88kg-1997, college: Buffalo) for the new 2026-27 season. Massinburg played last season at Maxima Roma (Serie A), where he averaged 8.2ppg, 1.8rpg, and 1.4apg in 17 games. Serie A2 will provide a better match for him, and he is expected to see more playing time. Massinburg helped Maxima Roma finish the regular season as the second-best team in the league and reach the Supercup final and league semifinals. In the previous 2024-25 season, he played for Bahcesehir (BSL) in the Turkish league, averaging 8.2ppg, 2.1rpg, and 1.8apg in 23 games. Massinburg was named League Player of the Week during that season.
He is a very experienced player. Massinburg has also played professionally in France (Limoges CSP Elite), Turkey, NBA G League (Long Island Nets), and The Basketball Tournament (Blue Collar U).
Between winning the Italian Cup in 2023, his team also secured the Eurobasket.com All-Italian Serie A Most Improved Player of the Year award in 2024.
Massinburg graduated from the University of Buffalo in 2019, and this will be his eighth season as a professional player.
