Best players of Italian Serie A1 round 3 (by Hoops Agents)

American Alyssa Ustby (185-G/F-2002) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Umana Reyer Venezia and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 24-year old swingman had a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds, while her team outclassed San Martino (#10, 1-2) with 29-point margin 75-46. Venezia is placed at 2nd position in Italian Serie A1. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Venezia already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. Ustby turned to be Venezia's top player in her first season with the team. University of North Carolina graduate has very impressive stats this year. Ustby is in league's top in points (9th best: 16.0ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 10.7rpg) and averages solid 66.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Spanish forward Maria Conde (185-F-1997) of league's best team Beretta Famila Schio. Conde impressed basketball fans with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course she led Schio to another comfortable win outscoring Campobasso (2-1) 91-67. A very good start of the season for her team, which won so far all 3 games without any defeat. Conde is a newcomer at Schio and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Dutch Laura Cornelius (173-PG-1996) of Allianz Geas Sesto San Giovanni (#5). Cornelius scored 14 points and passed 5 assists. She was a key player of San Giovanni, leading her team to a 63-58 win against Battipaglia (#7, 1-2). San Giovanni needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Cornelius has a great season in Italy. After only 3 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 6.0apg (2nd best).
