Alessandra Tava

A.S. Velcofin InterLock Vicenza (Serie A2) signed 32-year-old former international 183cm forward Alessandra Tava for the upcoming season. Tava, who played for San Giovanni in Serie A1 for the past two years, struggled in the higher level league, averaging just 1.4ppg in 14 games last season. Moving to Serie A2 will provide her with a better opportunity and more playing time. She was instrumental in helping San Giovanni reach the Italian Cup Semifinals.
Tava was also a member of the Italian international program for some years. She played for the Italian Senior National Team back in 2011 and previously for the Under 18 National Team in 2009.
Tava represented Italy at the European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) U20 in Serbia thirteen years ago. During this event she scored an average of 12.6 points per game and had 4 rebounds per game.
She has also played professionally in Sweden (A3 Basket), Italy (La Spezia, Viterbo, Bologna, Orvieto), and Sweden.
Tava's team made it to the A1 Semifinals in 2023.
