Valanciunas' 21 points and 7 rebounds give him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

34-year old center Jonas Valanciunas (211-C-1992) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had the game-high 21 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for Zalgiris in his team's victory, helping them to crush Taurages (#9, 1-4) with 20-point margin 96-76. It allowed Zalgiris to consolidate first place in the Lithuanian league. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Zalgiris already had a very good start winning all 6 without losing a single one. Valanciunas turned to be Zalgiris' top player in his first season with the team. Valanciunas has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 15.5ppg), rebounds (8th best: 5.5rpg) and averages solid 76.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Nick Johnson (193-G-2001) of BC Jonava Hipocredit. He is American guard in his first season at Jonava. In the last game Johnson recorded an impressive 22 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Jonava was edged by the higher-ranked Neptunas (#4, 3-3) 84-83. This loss caused Jonava to drop to 8th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. Johnson is a newcomer at Jonava and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.2ppg (#1).

Third place about best performers goes to guard Michael Devoe (196-G-1999) of BC Rytas Vilnius (#7). Devoe scored 18 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He was a key player of Rytas, leading his team to a 95-88 win against the higher-ranked Siauliai (#3, 3-3). Rytas needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Devoe has a great season in Lithuania. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.0apg (7th best).
