B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas (LKL) confirmed in their roster 27-year old American guard Thomas Walkup (193-88kg-92, college: SF Austin). He has played there for the last two seasons. Walkup helped them to win the cup and end the regular season at the top position. Quite impressive season as he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian LKL Defensive Player of the Year, named to 1st Team and named to All-Imports Team. Walkup played 28 games in Euroleague where he had 9.6ppg, 3.6rpg, 5.5apg and 1.0spg last season.
The previous (2019) summer Walkup played at Team Hines in U.S. semi-pro league The Basketball Tournament. He contributed to his team making it to the semifinals.
Walkup has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
Walkup has played previously professionally in Germany (EnBW Ludwigsburg) and NBA G League (Windy City Bulls).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he won Lithuanian League championship title in 2019. Walkup was also voted All-Southland Conf. Player of the Year back in 2015 and 2016 at his college time.
He attended Stephen F. Austin State University until 2016 and it will be his fifth season as a professional player.
