There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in LKL. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Rytas smashed Gargzdu in Vilnius 99-73. Rytas outrebounded Gargzdu 40-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. American-North Macedonian center Jacob Wiley (203-1994, college: EWU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds. The former international center Arturas Gudaitis (211-1993) contributed with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American guard Trey Pulliam (190-1998, college: SDSU) replied with 17 points for Gargzdu. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gargzdu will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Rytas will try to continue on its current victory against Juventus in Utena.
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Siauliai in Kaunas. Visitors were rolled over by Zalgiris 93-72. American center Moses Wright (207-1998, college: Georgia Tech) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Maodo Lo chipped in 11 points and 5 assists during the contest. American forward Jordan Brown (211-1999, college: Memphis) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zalgiris will play against Neptunas in Klaipeda in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Siauliai will play at home against Jonava to get more than just one victory in their record.
The game in Panevezys supposed to be also quite interesting. Jonava played at the court of Lietkabelis. Lietkabelis smashed Jonava 101-74 on Tuesday. Jonava will play against Siauliai and hope to win that game.
