Liaoning keeps Pocek for another season

Ana Pocek

Liaoning Henye (WCBA) re-signed 30-year old Montenegrin 190cm center Ana Pocek for upcoming season. She is the second foreign player in the roster as USA Tyasha Harris signed here earlier.
She was a team leader there last season. In 30 WCBA games she recorded very impressive stats: 19.1ppg, 11.5rpg, 2.1apg and 2.2spg (in top 5). Great season indeed as she was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese WCBA Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week (2 times).
For two previous seasons (2021-23) she played at CAB Estepona Jardin de la Costa del Sol (LF Challenge) in Spanish league.
She was also a member of the Montenegrin international program for some years. She played for Montenegrin Senior National Team between 2010 and 2018 and previously for the Under 18 National Team back in 2010.
Pocek also represented Montenegro at the European Championship (FIBA EuroBasket) in France eleven years ago. During this event she scored an average of 4 points per game and had 2.5 rebounds per game.
She is a very experienced player. Pocek has played also in Bulgaria (Beroe and Haskovo 2012), Cyprus (Asbis AEL Limassol), France (Hainaut), Israel, Italy, Poland (Wroclaw), Slovenia (Celje), Spain (Valencia, Zamora and Unicaja), Turkey (Hatay), Montenegro (Buducnost and Herceg Novi), Czech Republic (USK Praha) and Egypt (Shooting).
Among many awards she won WABA championship title in 2019. She was also selected to Eurobasket.com All-Cyprus League Bosman Player of the Year back in 2016.
