Maryam Gultekin (ex Wroclaw) agreed terms with M.Karmiel

Maccabi Karmiel (D1) inked experienced 36-year old Swedish-Turkish ex-international 166cm guard Maryam Gultekin. She already started the season at 1KS Sleza Wroclaw in Polish OBLK. In three games she recorded 4.3ppg and 2.0apg. She also played 2 games in Eurocup where she averaged 3.5ppg and 1.5rpg. The last season season she played at Istanbul GSK (TKBL) in Turkish league. The other team she played shortly was another Turkish team J&M Canakkale Belediyespor (TKBL) in Turkey.
Gultekin was also a member of the Swedish international program for some years. She played for Swedish Senior National Team between 2014 and 2022 and previously for the Under 20 National Team back in 2010.
Gultekin has played also in Poland, Turkey (Kayseri, Cankaya, Kocaeli, Adana ASKI Mersin and Samsun) and Sweden (AIK Basket and Lund). Her team was regular season runner-up in Turkish TKBL in 2026.
Among many awards she was voted Eurobasket.com All-Turkish League Domestic Player of the Year in 2025.
It may be one of last seasons in her extensive career, which she may end at M.Karmiel.
