Wann-Taylor number one in Portugal Liga Feminina for round 5 (by Hoops Agents)

American Guard Becca Wann-Taylor (180-G-1992) had a very impressive game in the last round for Basquete de Barcelos, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 34-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds, while her team in a lost game to Benfica (#2, 4-1) 70-76. Barcelos maintains the 9th position in Portuguese Liga Feminina. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 4 games and recorded just one victory. In the team's last game Wann-Taylor had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Barcelos, through which she has constantly improved. Former University of Richmond star has very solid stats this year. Wann-Taylor is in league's top in points (2nd best: 23.8ppg), assists (3rd best: 5.5apg) and averages impressive 59.1% FGP. Worth to mention Wann-Taylor played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped her get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Saniyah Neverson (183-F-2004) of GDESSA/Barreiro. Neverson had a very good evening with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Bad luck as GDESSA lost that game 78-90 to the higher-ranked Sanjoanense (#5, 3-2). This loss caused GDESSA to drop to 8th position in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. Neverson is a newcomer at GDESSA, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.4ppg (#8). Her other stats are also decent: 6.8rpg and 3.6apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American swingman Halle Idowu (180-G/F-2002) of A.D. Sanjoanense (#5). Idowu scored 26 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. She was a key player of Sanjoanense, leading her team to a 90-78 win against the lower-ranked GDESSA (#8, 2-3). Sanjoanense needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Idowu has a very solid season. In 3 games in Portugal she scored 15.0ppg.
