Marta Vargas (ex CAB Madeira) joins Vigarano

Dondi Multistore Vigarano (Serie A2) agreed terms with 25-year old Portuguese guard Marta Vargas (175cm-1999, college: URI, agency: DC Sports). She started the season at CAB Madeira in Portuguese Liga Feminina. In 22 games she had 11.0ppg, 3.6rpg and 3.5apg. The last season season she played at another Portuguese team Sportiva/AzorisHotels Ponta Delgada in Portuguese league. She also played 23 games in Liga Feminina where she recorded 4.3ppg and 1.3rpg. Vargas helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final.
She represented Portugal at the European Championship (FIBA EuroBasket) U20 in Klatovy (Czech Republic) six years ago. During this event she scored an average of 1.7 points per game and had 1.3 rebounds per game.
Vargas has played also professionally in Germany (Marburg).
She graduated from University of Rhode Island in 2022 and it is her third season as a professional player.
