Carolina Cruz joins Livorno

Jolly Acli Basket Livorno (Serie A2) agreed terms with 24-year old Portuguese center Carolina Cruz (195cm-2001, college: Manhattan) for the new 2025-26 season. She played last season at Bruschi San Giovanni Valdarno. In 32 Serie A2 games in Italy, she had 9.8ppg, 9.4rpg, 1.2apg, and 1.3spg. She helped them to end the regular season as the second-best team in the league and advanced to the league semifinals. A very impressive season as she was named to Eurobasket.com All-Italian Serie A2 Honorable Mention. For the two previous seasons (2022-24), she played at Sport Lisboa Benfica in Portugal. Cruz also played 22 games in the Portuguese Liga Feminina, where she recorded 6.4ppg, 5.0rpg, and 1.1apg in the 2023-24 year. She contributed to her team winning the Portuguese League title and the cup.
Cruz represented Portugal at the FIBA EuroBasket U18 Division B in Skopje, North Macedonia, six years ago. During this event, she scored an average of 13 ppg and had 7.9 rpg.
She has played previously for two other Portuguese teams: Quinta dos Lombos and Sportiva.
Cruz attended Manhattan College until 2021, and it will be her 5th season as a pro player.
