Faustino's 31-point game gives her Player of the Week award

33-year old point guard Ines Faustino (170-PG-1992) had a very impressive game in the last round for Sport Lisboa Benfica and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
She had the game-high 31 points adding five rebounds and four assists for Benfica as her team was edged out by Imortal (#2, 4-1) 83-79. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Benfica moved-up to the 4th position in Portuguese Liga Feminina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Benfica will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 3-2 record. In the team's last game Faustino had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. It's her second year at Benfica and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Ines Faustino averages this season 12.8ppg.

Second best performed player last round was Molly Mogensen (170-G-2001) of Basquete de Barcelos. She is American guard in her first season at Barcelos. In the last game Mogensen recorded an impressive 23 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Bad luck as Barcelos lost that game 81-92 to the lower-ranked Sanjoanense (#10, 2-3). This loss caused Barcelos to drop to 6th position in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 3-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Mogensen is a newcomer at Barcelos and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.6ppg (#6). Her other stats are also decent: 5.2rpg and 5.4apg.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Maria Marinho (179-F-2000) of S.C. Coimbroes/Rebau Vila Nova de Gaia (#12). Marinho scored 27 points and passed 6 assists. Despite Marinho's great performance the Coimbroes lost 59-60 to the higher-ranked GDESSA (#7, 2-3). But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates. Marinho has a very solid season. In 5 games in Portugal she scored 14.8ppg.
