This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Sportiva (4-6) to eighth ranked GDESSA (4-6) 78-77 in the game for the sixth place. fired 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Marcia Costa (173-1989) chipped in 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Brazilian guard Bella Nascimento (173-2002, college: William & Mary) produced 25 points for lost side. GDESSA moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Esgueira and Sportiva. GDESSA is looking forward to face CAB Madeira (#11) in Funchal in the next round where they are favorite. Sportiva will play at home against Galitos (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
Bottom-ranked Coimbroes managed to get a second victory. This time newly promoted Coimbroes won against fourth-ranked Sporting in Vila Nova de Gaia 77-68. Worth to mention a great performance of who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Mariana Mafalda contributed with 22 points for the winners. The former international guard Simone Costa (178-1996, college: Georgia) replied with 19 points for Sporting. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Coimbroes (2-8) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with CAB Madeira.
