There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Liga Feminina. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Q.Lombos (18-2) in Carcavelos on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by fourth ranked GDESSA (11-9) 60-57. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Q.Lombos. Strangely Q.Lombos outrebounded GDESSA 45-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. American guard Lauren Park-Lane (165-2001, college: MSU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 6 assists. The other American import guard Mya Burns (183-2000, college: UCF) contributed with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Angolan Sara Caetano (172-2003) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for Q.Lombos. Q.Lombos' coach Jose Leite rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. GDESSA maintains fourth position with 11-9 record, which they share with Barcelos. Q.Lombos at the other side still keep top place with two games lost. GDESSA is looking forward to face Sportiva (#8) in Ponta Delgada in the next round. Q.Lombos will play on the road against CAB Madeira (#9) in Funchal and are hoping to win this game.
The game in Ponta Delgada was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Benfica (16-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Sportiva (9-11). Benfica managed to secure a 8-point victory 77-69. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Schaquilla Nunn (190-1994, college: Tennessee) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and Joana Soeiro who added 14 points and 4 steals during the contest. Benfica's coach Eugenio Rodrigues allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Venezuelan swingman Genesis Rivera (180-1996, college: UMass) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Defending champion maintains second position with 16-4 record having just two points less than leader Q.Lombos. Sportiva at the other side dropped to the seventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Sporting. Benfica will play against bottom-ranked Galitos (#12) in Aveiro in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sportiva will play at home against GDESSA (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Funchal between CAB Madeira and GDESSA. Ninth ranked CAB Madeira (7-13) got a very close home victory over higher ranked GDESSA (11-9). CAB Madeira managed to escape with a 1-point win 56-55 on Tuesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. The winners were led by Maria Lopes who scored that evening 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 14 points and 7 rebounds by Mya Burns did not help to save the game for GDESSA. CAB Madeira have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position with 7-13 record. Loser GDESSA keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Barcelos. CAB Madeira will meet at home league's leader Q.Lombos in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. GDESSA will play against Sportiva in Ponta Delgada and hope to secure a win.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 20: CAB Madeira beat Sanjoanense on the road 84-73. Bottom-ranked Galitos lost to Esgueira on its own court 55-70. Sporting unfortunately lost to Barcelos in a road game 63-76. Coimbroes recorded a loss to Imortal at home 72-79.
