KCAC Team Goes 2-2 on Trip, Brooks Breaks Scoring Record

Below you will find the game write ups for Game 3 and Game 4. Followed by the Player Breakdown of each players performance during the KCAC 4 game trip to Portugal. The team competed against Quinta Dos Lombos, Barcelos/Povoa Mix, Coimbroes, and CPN. The team was coached by Madi Wallace from Evangel University. KCAC Falls in Heartbreaker to Coimbroes Despite Brooks' 40-Point Explosion

KCAC came up just short in a thrilling battle with Coimbroes, falling by just one point despite an incredible offensive performance from Makaiya Brooks (173-G). Brooks erupted for 40 points, knocking down six three-pointers while adding 9 rebounds and 3 assists in the highest scoring individual performance in Eurobasket tour history. KCAC battled throughout the game and nearly completed the comeback before Coimbroes escaped in the closing moments.


KCAC also received strong contributions from Cassidy Hambelton (163-G), who finished with 13 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals, while Madi Melton added 12 points and 7 rebounds. Josie Sullivan (178-F) controlled the paint with 10 points and 13 rebounds, and Autumn Wallace grabbed 9 rebounds in a strong effort on the glass. Despite the tough result, KCAC showed resilience and competitiveness against a talented Coimbroes squad in one of the most exciting games of the trip.

KCAC Close Tour with 8-Point Victory, Finish 2-2 on Eurobasket Trip

KCAC wrapped up its Eurobasket tour with a strong 8-point win over CPN, finishing the trip with a 2-2 record behind balanced scoring and tough defensive play. Makaiya Brooks led the offense with 20 points, knocking down four three-pointers while adding 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Josie Sullivan delivered another standout performance with 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals, controlling the paint and providing a major presence on both ends of the floor.


KCAC also received solid contributions from Cassidy Hambelton, who finished with 10 points and 6 assists, while Carson Dillard (170-G) added 10 points and 5 rebounds. Garneisha Love contributed on the glass with 4 rebounds, and the team combined for a strong defensive effort to pull away late. After facing high-level competition throughout the tour, KCAC closed the trip on a positive note with a hard-fought team victory.


Although the team finished the Portugal tour with a 2–2 record, the results came against extremely strong competition, including losses to two of the top-ranked teams in the country. Throughout the trip, the group showed resilience, competitiveness, and the ability to perform at a high level against elite opposition. The tour provided valuable experience while showcasing strong individual performances and steady growth across the roster.

Makaiya Brooks

Team-High 26.3 PPG | 8.0 RPG | 2.5 APG | 2.5 STL | PER 21

Brooks was the clear offensive engine of the team and one of the most explosive players on the tour. Averaging over 26 points per game against elite competition, she consistently found ways to score from all areas of the floor while also contributing as a rebounder and defender. Her 19 made three-pointers highlighted her perimeter shooting ability, and her overall production kept the team competitive in every matchup. Brooks' performances against top-tier opponents were among the biggest highlights of the tour.

Josie Sullivan

14.8 PPG | Team-High 11.0 RPG | 2.0 APG | 1.3 STL | PER 18

Sullivan was one of the team's most dominant all-around players during the Portugal tour. She averaged a double-double, leading the team in rebounding while also ranking among the top scorers. Her physical presence inside, ability to finish around the basket, and toughness on the glass gave the team a consistent interior anchor throughout all four games.

Cassidy Hambelton

13.8 PPG | 4.8 APG | 3.8 RPG | 1.5 STL | PER 14

Hambelton was one of the team's offensive leaders throughout the tour. She consistently created scoring opportunities for both herself and her teammates, leading the team in assists while averaging nearly 14 points per game. Her ability to control the pace, attack the basket, and make plays under pressure made her one of the group's most reliable performers against top-level competition.

Autumn Wallace

4.3 PPG | 7.0 RPG | PER 7.8

Wallace played an important role as one of the team's strongest rebounders. She consistently competed inside, creating extra possessions and helping the team hold its own physically against larger and more experienced teams. Her rebounding and defensive effort were key parts of the group's competitiveness throughout the tour.

Carson Dillard

8.5 PPG | 5.3 RPG | Team-High 6 Made 3FG | PER 4

Dillard provided valuable perimeter shooting and spacing throughout the tournament. Her ability to knock down outside shots stretched opposing defenses and opened driving lanes for teammates. In addition to her scoring, she contributed on the boards and helped maintain offensive balance against some of the toughest competition faced on the trip.

Madi Melton

6.3 PPG | Team-High 3.8 APG | 3.8 RPG | PER 6.8

Melton served as an important facilitator and floor leader throughout the tournament. Leading the team in assists, she consistently moved the ball effectively and helped organize the offense against aggressive defensive pressure. Her steady decision-making and willingness to distribute helped keep the team composed in difficult matchups.

Garneisha Love

3.3 PPG | 5.3 RPG | 1.0 STL | 0.8 BLK | PER 7.5

Love brought energy, toughness, and rebounding to the lineup throughout the tournament. While her scoring opportunities were limited, she made her presence felt defensively and on the glass. Her willingness to battle inside and contribute through effort plays helped provide balance and physicality against strong opponents.

Gillian Rodgers

0.8 PPG | 2.3 RPG

Rodgers embraced a valuable supporting role throughout the tournament. While her offensive numbers were modest, she contributed through rebounding, hustle, and team-first effort whenever called upon. Her willingness to compete and provide energy off the bench added important depth to the rotation.

Tour Summary

Despite facing two nationally ranked opponents and finishing 2–2 overall, the team gained valuable experience competing against some of the strongest competition in Portugal. Brooks led the offensive attack with an outstanding scoring tournament, while Sullivan anchored the interior with dominant rebounding and consistent production. The tour challenged the team at a high level and showcased the group's resilience, competitiveness, and ability to battle against elite international opposition. The experience gained throughout the four games will provide a strong foundation moving forward.
