Dynamo Ufa conquer Higher League title-May 1, 2025
Dynamo Ufa have conquered the Higher League title. They edged Neftekhimik 72-69 on the road in Game 2 to complete the sweep of the championship series. Gleb Bednyakov (198-G-2001) scored 17 points to lead the visitors. Dynamo Ufa used a 21-14 second half run to gain a 7-point halftime lead. Neftekhimik managed to narrow the deficit in the second half. They pulled within striking distance late in the game but Dynamo Ufa held on to the advantage and claimed a decisive win at the end. Alexander Martynov (197-G-1995) tossed in 14 points for the champions. Sergei Kharitonov (205-C/F-1991) produced game-high 24 points for Neftekhimik. ![]() Sergei Kharitonov, 33-year old power forward from the Neftekhimik Tobolsk, picked up the Player of the Year at the Higher League.
He received multiple other awards, was named the Defensive Player of the Year, Domestic Player of the Year, Center of the Year, and was voted to the First Team and Defensive Team.
Kharitonov's best performance made his team reach the finals but they unfortunately lost against Dynamo Ufa 0 to 2.
He was previously selected to the Second Team back in 2023, Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and First Team last year.
Kharitonov was the Player of the Week honoree in the league.
