Mikhail Vlasenko gets MVP of the Week award for Russian VTB-Youth League

Talented Mikhail Vlasenko (2008) had a very impressive game in the last round for BC Samara Youth team and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 18-year old had the game-high 17 points adding eight rebounds and three assists for Samara-2 in his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team UNICS-2 (#16, 0-5) with 30-point margin 101-71. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Samara-2 is placed at 13th position in Russian VTB-Youth League. The season is still in it's early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 4 games and had just one victory. In the team's last game Vlasenko had a remarkable 88.9% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Mikhail Vlasenko averages this season 8.2ppg and 5.8rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Samara-2's star - young forward Artyom Bazorov (202-F-2008). Bazorov impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Samara managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 13th place. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Samara managed to get this year. Bazorov is well-known by Samara fans and together with Mikhail Vlasenko they both established positions among team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.4ppg (#3). He also registered 9.6 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Egor Suprun (185-SG-2009) of BC Nizhny Novgorod 2nd team (#7). Suprun scored 28 points and passed 5 assists. He was a key player of N.Novgorod-2, leading his team to a 75-60 easy win against the lower-ranked Avtodor-2 (#12, 1-4). N.Novgorod-2 needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Suprun has a very solid season. In 5 games in Russia he scored 10.2ppg.
