Douglas number one in Russian Superleague 1 for round 10

American Forward Javonte Douglas (203-F-92) had a very impressive game in the last round for Burevestnik, receiving a Hoops Agents Superleague 1 Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 32 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed Novosybirsk (#7, 3-2) with 20-point margin 96-76. Burevestnik is placed at 3rd position in Russian Superleague 1. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Burevestnik will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. In the team's last game Douglas had a remarkable 73.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Burevestnik's top player in his first season with the team. Former Montevallo University star has very solid stats this year. Douglas is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.3ppg. Douglas is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 9.0rpg) and averages impressive 66.7% FGP and 45.5% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was 37-year old Grigory Shukhovtsov (211-C-83) of Vostok-65. Shukhovtsov had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he led Vostok-65 to another comfortable win outscoring Irkut (#14, 0-6) 93-70. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Vostok-65 keeps 9th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 3-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Shukhovtsov is a newcomer at Vostok-65, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Kazakhstan forward Aleksandr Zhigulin (205-F-94) of Ufimets Ufa (#6). Zhigulin got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He was a key player of Ufimets Ufa, leading his team to a 107-104 win against the lower-ranked CSKA 2 (#12, 1-4). Ufimets Ufa needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 4 lost games. Zhigulin has a great season in Russia. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.5ppg (4th best). He also has FGP: 51.1% and 3PT: 46.7%.
