Marko Popovic gets MVP of the Week award for Serbian 2MLS (by Hoops Agents)

Marko Popovic (203-F/C-2000) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's second-best KK Pirot and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents 2MLS Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 26-year old power forward had a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed Proleter (#13, 1-4) with 19-point margin 95-76. Pirot is placed at 2nd position in Serbian 2MLS. They are still close to the very top. Pirot would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 4-1 record. In the team's last game Popovic had a remarkable 87.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Pirot's top player in his first season with the team. Popovic has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 19.2ppg. Popovic is in league's top in and averages solid 63.0% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young power forward Vukasin Komlenovic (202-F/C-2001) of OKK Krusevac. Komlenovic impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Krusevac lost that game 71-87 to slightly higher-ranked Zdravlje (4-1). This loss caused Krusevac to drop to 5th position in the standings. It was just his team's 1st loss this season, while they won 4 other games. Komlenovic is well-known by Krusevac fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Montenegrin Petar Bjelica (208-F/C-2009) of BC Mega Superbet Beograd (#7). Bjelica showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Mega BG, leading his team to a 106-71 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Jagodina (#9, 2-3). Mega BG needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Bjelica has a great season in Serbia. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.7rpg (8th best). Petar Bjelica has also Serbian passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.
