Vuckovic number one in Serbia 1 ZLS for round 7

Forward Nevena Vuckovic (185-F-2002) put on an amazing game in the last round for ZKK Student Nis, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 22 rebounds, while her team outclassed Novosadska ZKA (#9, 1-6) with 44-point margin 111-67. Student is placed at 6th position in Serbian 1 ZLS. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Student will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. In the team's last game Vuckovic had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. It's her second year at Student and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Nevena Vuckovic has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (6th best: 16.9ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 11.0rpg) and averages impressive 61.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Vladinka Erak (192-C-1984) of league's second-best ZKK Nibak Nis. Erak had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Of course she led Nibak Nis to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Spartak S. (#10, 1-6) 89-53. This victory allowed Nibak Nis to move up to second position in the standings. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 6 matches. Erak is well-known at Nibak Nis and is a proven leader in her second season with the team. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.4ppg (#4). She also registered 10.7 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Jeana Weatherspoon (178-G-2000) of ZKK Duga Sabac (#11). Weatherspoon scored 20 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Despite Weatherspoon's great performance the Duga lost 59-78 to the higher-ranked Mega MIS (#5, 5-2). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Duga can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-6 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Weatherspoon has a very solid season. In 7 games in Serbia she scored 10.6ppg. She also has 4.9rpg and a FGP of 56.3%.
