Davis number one in Turkey KBSL for round 6 (by Hoops Agents)

American Guard Rennia Davis (188-G-1999) had an amazing evening in the last round for Besiktas JK Istanbul, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds, while her team outclassed Ormanspor (#9, 1-5) with 31-point margin 80-49. Besiktas is placed at 3rd position in Turkish KBSL. They are still close to the very top. Besiktas would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 4-1 record. In the team's last game Davis had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. She turned to be Besiktas' top player in her first season with the team. Former University of Tennessee star has very solid stats this year. Davis is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 8.6rpg) and averages impressive 51.2% FGP and 53.8% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young Nigerian Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah (188-C/F-1997) of Emlak Konut Istanbul. Kunaiyi-Akpanah had a very good evening with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Bad luck as Emlak lost that game 60-67 to slightly higher-ranked Mersin (#6, 3-2). Emlak is still in a red zone at 7th spot in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-4 record. Kunaiyi-Akpanah is a newcomer at Emlak, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was French guard Carla Leite (175-PG-2004) of CBK Mersin (#6). Leite showcased her all-around game by recording 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Mersin, leading her team to a 67-60 win against slightly lower-ranked Emlak (#7, 2-4). Mersin needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Leite has a great season in Turkey. After only 3 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.7ppg (7th best) and assists with 5.7apg (2nd best).
