This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 7th ranked Cherkasy (4-9) to fifth ranked Krivbas (7-6) 64-62 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 21-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Very important is a home loss of third ranked Kyiv Basket (8-4) against sixth ranked Hoverla (6-6) on Sunday night. Host Kyiv Basket was defeated by Hoverla in a tough game in Kyiv 61-66. It was a great evening for American guard Laterrance Reed (188-1997, college: NSU, agency: Alti Sport) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 5 assists. Roman Morozov helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Marty Hill (196-1997, college: Evansville) responded with 19 points and 5 steals. Hoverla maintains sixth place with 6-6 record. Kyiv Basket at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Hoverla will play against league's second-placed K.Sokoly in Kharkiv in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kyiv Basket will have a break next round.
An interesting game for Dnipro (11-1) which played road game in Zaporozhye against 4th placed Zaporizhye (7-5). First ranked Dnipro managed to get a 8-point victory 78-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zaporizhye. It was an exceptional evening for Daniil Sypalo who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Dnipro's coach Volodymyr Koval used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tarig Eisa came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for Zaporizhye in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Dnipro. They maintain first place with 11-1 record. Loser Zaporizhye keeps the fourth position with five games lost.

Other games in round 7 were not that significant. Hoverla beat Stariy Lutsk on the road 89-85. K.Sokoly won against Krivbas on its own court 96-85. Niko Basket managed to outperform Cherkasy in Mykolaiv 70-68. Kyiv Basket managed to beat Stariy Lutsk at home 73-69. Hoverla was crushed by Rivne on the opponent's court 103-61. K.Sokoly beat Niko Basket in a home game 82-65. Winless Stariy Lutsk lost to Rivne on the road 79-81.



Stariy Lutsk - Hoverla 85-89 OT

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Hoverla (6-6) beat on the road bottom-ranked Stariy Lutsk (0-12) 89-85 on Friday. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 21-11 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 4-point victory in overtime. Krivbas managed to win second period 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. K.Sokoly made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game.
