There was a small surprise when ninth rankedNiko Basket (4-8) edged on the road 7th ranked Cherkasy (4-9) 70-68 on Friday. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 21-9 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Niko Basket forced 19 Cherkasy turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for Maksym Hryshchuk who led the winners and scored 13 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Maksym Safonov accounted for 16 points for the winning side. American forward Jermaine Hamlin (208-2000, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) came up with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Lev Koshevatskyi added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for Cherkasy in the defeat. Cherkasy's coach Dmytro Nagornyi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Niko Basket . They moved-up to eighth place. Cherkasy lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost.
