Oaklands Wolves (WBBL) have signed 29-year-old Canadian shooting guard Claire Abbott, who stands at 170cm tall and played college basketball at Nipissing. Abbott is the second import player to join the team, following the signing of American player Caterrion Thompson. This marks Abbott's return to the Wolves, as she has previously played for the team. She is a well-known player in the British WBBL, most recently playing for the Manchester Giants, where she averaged 8.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game in 11 games last season. In the previous season (2021-22), she played for another British team, Queens (WNBL).
She's a highly experienced player.
She graduated from Nipissing University in 2017, and this will be her seventh season in professional basketball. She also played for Carleton University for one year.
