Justin Hopkins claims British BCB Hoops Agents weekly honour

American Justin Hopkins (196-F-1998) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Worthing Thunder and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents BCB Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 28-year old forward had the game-high 43 points adding three rebounds and seven assists for Worthing T. in his team's victory, helping them to beat Nottingham H. (#7, 2-2) 115-106. Thunder is placed at 5th position in British BCB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Worthing T. will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Hopkins had a remarkable 64.7% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. It's his second year at Thunder and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Texas Southern University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hopkins is league's best scorer averaging so far 29.7ppg. Hopkins is in league's top in and averages solid 2.7spg and 58.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was American guard Manning Baumgardner III (185-G) of Essex Rebels. Baumgardner III impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 12 assists. Bad luck as Rebels lost that game 88-93 to Hemel Storm (3-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Baumgardner III is a newcomer at Essex R. and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Jordan Jefferson (193-G-1990) of Yorkshire Dragons (#10). Jefferson scored 29 points and passed 4 assists. Despite Jefferson's great performance the Dragons lost 83-91 to Bristol H. (1-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Yorkshire D. not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victory. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Jefferson could try to bring Yorkshire D.'s a little bit higher in the standings. Jefferson has a very solid season. In 3 games in United Kingdom he scored 21.7ppg.
