Harriet Welham (G-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for
Endeavour Ipswich Basketball and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents WNBL D1 Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 29-year old guard had a double-double of 27 points and 17 rebounds, while her team crushed
Worcester W (#6,
3-4) with 21-point margin
89-68.
Ipswich 2 is placed at 4th position in British WNBL D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season.
Ipswich 2 will need more victories to improve their
3-1 record. In the team's last game Welham had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at
Ipswich 2, through which she has constantly improved. Welham has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 26.5ppg. Welham is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 11.5rpg), assists (4th best: 4.5apg) and averages solid 2.3spg and 52.9% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard
Katherine Goldsby (173-G-1994) of
London All-Stars. Goldsby impressed basketball fans with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. It was enough for London AS to edge the higher-ranked
East London P. (#8,
2-3) by 4 points
66-62. London AS's 11th position in the standings has not changed. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories London AS managed to get this year. Goldsby is well-known by London AS fans and she already established her position as one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.1ppg (#4). She also registered 9.0 boards per game.
The third best performed player last round was
Georgia Perdomo of
Manchester Mystics (#7). Perdomo got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. She went also for six rebounds . She was a key player of Manchester, leading her team to a
87-49 easy win against the higher-ranked
London C. (#3,
4-2). The chances of Manchester ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 4 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Perdomo could help Manchester M. to bring them higher in the standings. Perdomo has a great season in United Kingdom. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.1ppg (7th best).

The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
