Plorina number one in WBBL for round 7

Marta Plorina (180-SF-2008) put on an amazing game in the last round for SBK Liepaja/LSSS, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 18-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 16 rebounds, while her team crushed Alytaus (#10, 1-3) with 21-point margin 85-64. Liepaja/LSSS is placed at 8th position in WBBL. Liepaja/LSSS is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-3 record. In the team's last game Plorina had a remarkable 81.3% from 2-point range. She turned to be Liepaja/LSSS's top player in her first season with the team. Marta Plorina has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (7th best: 18.8ppg), rebounds (5th best: 9.0rpg) and averages impressive 59.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another Liepaja/LSSS's star - young Maija Aploka (169-G-2008). Aploka had a very good evening with 30 points and 4 assists. Of course together with Plorina she helped SBK Liepaja/LSSS with another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Alytaus (#10, 1-3) 85-64. This victory allowed Liepaja/LSSS to move up to 8th position in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. Aploka is one of the most experienced players at Liepaja/LSSS and similarly like Marta Plorina has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Malia Latu (173-G-2003) of league's top team Siauliu Siauliai. Latu scored 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. She was a key player of Siauliai, leading her team to a 94-85 win against #3 ranked Neptunas in a game of the week. Siauliai started extremely well this year. They recorded 6 victories without losing a single game. Latu turns to be one of the very best players in the league while she is also a leader of the top team having her eyes on the championship title. Latu has a very solid season. In 6 games in WBBL she scored 10.8ppg.
