The most interesting game of round 8 was a derby match between two teams from Lithuania. Eighth ranked Siauliai won against visiting Panevezys (1-2) 82-69. Strangely Panevezys outrebounded Siauliai 42-25 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Kenyan center Mercy Wanyama (185-1992) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. American guard Cassidy Mihalko (180-1995, college: CBU) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Kriste Timofejeva (180-1992) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for Panevezys. Siauliai (2-1) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Aistes-LSMU. Newly promoted Panevezys keep the ninth position with two games lost. Siauliai will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Panevezys will play at home against the league's second-placed Neptunas (#2) and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
WBBL top team - Lithuanian LCC Klaipeda (5-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed tenth ranked Latvian Daugavpils (1-4) 81-50. Worth to mention a quality performance of center Gerda Raulusaityte (189-2004) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Kateryna Dike who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. LCC Klaipeda's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Polish point guard Kinga Piedel (170-1997) responded with 13 points. Undefeated LCC Klaipeda have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Daugavpils lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with four games lost. LCC Klaipeda will play against Jurmala (#12) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Daugavpils will play against Aistes-LSMU to get more than just one victory in their record.

This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their third consecutive match to seventh ranked Lithuanian Aistes-LSMU (2-1) 77-57 on Friday evening. The winners were led by Gintare Paulauskaite who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Aistes-LSMU's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 26 points and 7 rebounds by Zozefine Sipolina did not help to save the game for Jurmala. Aistes-LSMU moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Siauliai. Jurmala at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with BJBS Riga. Aistes-LSMU will meet at home Liepaja/LSSS (#8) in the next round. Jurmala will play against the league's leader LCC Klaipeda (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
In the last game of round 8 Liepaja/LSSS lost to undefeated Kibirkstis-MRU on the road 60-86.
