Round 11 (Regular Season): TTT Riga beat Liepaja/LSSS in a derby game

Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most interesting game of round 11 was a derby match between two teams from Latvia. Fourth ranked TTT Riga won against visiting Liepaja/LSSS (1-9) 78-73. They outrebounded Liepaja/LSSS 40-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Liepaja/LSSS helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Mia Loyd (181-1994, college: N.Dakota, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 46 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Swingman Anita Mikelsone (178-2001) chipped in 5 points and 6 rebounds. point guard Enija Kivite (176-2003) produced 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. TTT Riga maintains fourth place with 5-4 record. Liepaja/LSSS at the other side keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. TTT Riga will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Liepaja/LSSS will play at home against the league's leader Kibirkstis-MRU (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.

Taylor Murray contributed with 10 points and 9 assists for the winners. Neptunas' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Malia Bambrick (178-2000, college: LBSU) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds for Siauliai. Neptunas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 9-2 record behind leader Aistes-LSMU. Siauliai at the other side keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Neptunas' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Klaipeda LCC Klaipeda.

It was a great evening for Egle Zabotkaite who led her team to a victory scoring 24 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Paula Cirsa responded with 20 points. Kibirkstis-MRU have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending Lithuanian champion maintains first place with 10-0 record. Loser RSU keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Kibirkstis-MRU will meet Liepaja/LSSS (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. RSU will play against TSA Tallinn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 11 LCC Klaipeda crushed TSA Tallinn in a road game 95-55.

Lithuanian undefeated leader Kibirkstis-MRU delivered the tenth consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 7th ranked Latvian RSU (1-8) 95-59 in Riga. Kibirkstis-MRU dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to RSU's 18 and had 24 for 35 from the free-throw line, while RSU only scored eight points from the stripe. Kibirkstis-MRU forced 22 RSU turnovers and outrebounded them 42-21 including a 17-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Kibirkstis-MRU looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for forward Egle Zabotkaite (183-2000) who led her team to a victory scoring 24 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Center Giedre Labuckiene (192-1990) helped adding 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Kibirkstis-MRU players scored in double figures. There was no surprise when 5th ranked Estonian TSA Tallinn (2-5) was crushed at home by third ranked Lithuanian LCC Klaipeda (8-3) 95-55 on Sunday. LCC Klaipeda forced 27 TSA Tallinn turnovers and outrebounded them 40-21 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. LCC Klaipeda looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by TSA Tallinn's players. It was a great evening for center Gerda Raulusaityte (189-2004) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Dominyka Paliulyte (171-2001) helped adding 16 points, 7 assists and 7 steals. Four LCC Klaipeda players scored in double figures. Point guard Katlin Kangur (170-2006) responded with 12 points and 6 assists and Uruguayan Sabrina Molina (180-1998) scored 3 points and 7 rebounds. LCC Klaipeda maintains third place with 8-3 record having just one point less than leader Aistes-LSMU. Loser TSA Tallinn keeps the fifth position with five games lost. LCC Klaipeda's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Klaipeda to the arena Neptunas.
