Mexico fired past Jordan in their 2023 World Cup final act. The Latin American finished at 2-3 record in the Classification Round Group N. Gabriel Giron (192-SG-1988) topscored with 21 points for the winners.
The teams went neck and neck throughout the first half. The halftime scoreboard read 43-43. Mexico managed to pull ahead in the third term. They dropped 25 points to eke out a 3-point lead at the final intermission. They did not slow down in the fourth quarter going for 25 points and getting the victory at the end. Paul Stoll (180-PG-1985) chipped in 19 points for Mexico. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (201-F-1995, college: Arizona) answered with game-high 26 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds for Jordan.
