Serbia overcame Lithuania 87-68 at the 2023 World Cup Quarterfinals. Serbia heads to the semis after European all-time classic win. Lithuania started with a 25-24 run, however could not match the opponents in the rest of the game. Serbia replied with a massive 25-13 surge in the second frame to take an 11-point cushion, 49-38. Serbia won the third quarter 24-17 and maintained their substantial advantage in the last 10 minutes, making the period a mere formality.
Atlanta Hawks shooting guard Bogdan Bogdanovic (198-SG-1992) stepped up with 21 points to pace the winners. Filip Petrusev (211-C-2000, college: Gonzaga) delivered 17, whilst Stefan Jovic (198-PG-1990) netted 11. Tadas Sedekerskis (206-F-1998) replied with 14 points in a loss and Rokas Jokubaitis (193-PG-2000) had 13. Jonas Valanciunas (213-C-1992) and Ignas Brazdeikis (201-G/F-1999, college: Michigan) netted 11 points apiece in defeat.
