Ireland - Azerbaijan 91-67

Ireland posted the initial win in Group A at the 2027 World Cup Pre-Qualifiers. They overcame Azerbaijan 91-67 at the National Basketball Arena for a 1-2 record.
Ireland started better and grabbed a 25-12 lead at the end of the first quarter. The hosts also added a 23-13 run in the second period and won the third quarter 23-20. Azerbaijan replied with a 22-20 rally in the last stanza to drop at 1-2 record.
Sean Flood (188-G-1996, college: Longwood) led the way with 28 points and Jordan Blount (203-F/C-1997, college: UIC, agency: One Motive Sports) as well as Neal Quinn (213-C-2001, college: Richmond) netted 13 each. Jordan Davis (190-G-1998, college: Jacksonville) replied with 25 points in the losing effort.
