Cameroon edged South Sudan 60–56 in the World Cup 2027 African Qualifiers after building a strong early lead and holding off a late comeback. Cameroon controlled the first half with a 19–9 opening quarter and an 18–15 second period to take a comfortable advantage into halftime. South Sudan responded with a determined push in the second half, winning the third quarter 15–8 and the fourth 17–15 to narrow the gap. Despite the pressure, Cameroon maintained composure in the closing moments, securing the four-point victory. Jordan Bayehe (203-C-1999) and Jeremiah Hill (188-PG-1995, college: Valdosta St.) stepped up with 15 points each, whilst Aristide Mouaha (191-G-2000) netted 8. Both Gach (201-G/F-1999, college: Utah) delivered 15 points in the losing effort. |
