Turkiye kept their perfect record at the 2027 World Cup European Qualifiers Group C. They upset Serbia at the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall in Belgrade tonight to gain the third straight win. Tarik Biberovic (201-SF-2001) scored 22 points, while Cedi Osman (203-SF-1995) contributed 16 points to pace the visitors. Turkiye dominated the first half. The visiting team gained a 46-31 halftime advantage. Serbia bounced back with a 23-11 rally in the third term to pull within 3 points 54-57. Jovan Novak (191-PG-1994) tied things up at 70 with just over two minutes remaining in regulation. Bogoljub Markovic (210-F-2005) drained a three-pointer to give the hosts a 73-72 lead. But Tarik Biberovic sank 5 points in a row and then Cedi Osman and Sehmus Hazer (192-PG-1999) went perfect from the stripe to ice the victory for Turkiye. Bogoljub Markovic posted 19 points, while Ognjen Dobric (200-G/F-1994) had 17 points in the loss. |
