Regular Season Round 8: Lions NextGen - BBU Salzburg 64-73

There was no surprise in Traiskirchen where 7th rankedLions NextGen (1-5) was defeated by third ranked BBU (5-2) 73-64 on Saturday. BBU Salzburg forced 20 Lions NextGen turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of German guard Robert Becker (200-2002) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Samuel Gatterbauer (180-2004) who added 14 points and 4 assists during the contest. Serbian guard Nikica Nikolic (192-2000, agency: Highlight Athletes) responded with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and center Maximilian Schuecker (206-1998, college: Montana St.) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BBU have an impressive five-game winning streak. BBU Salzburg maintains third position with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Mustangs. Lions NextGen lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh place with five games lost.
