Regular Season Round 14: Piraten - Mustangs 85-86

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss ofWorthersee Piraten (11-2) in Klagenfurt on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by Mustangs (12-1) 86-85 . It was a key game for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was forward Ian Moschik (200-1996) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Czech guard Jan Kozina (182-1995) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Mustangs' coach Martin Weissenboeck used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Shawn Ray (196-1980, college: NCCU) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and Slovenian guard Elvis Keric (193-1998) added 21 points respectively for the hosts. Four Piraten players scored in double figures. Mustangs have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-1 record which they share with defeated Piraten . Piraten at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. Mustangs are looking forward to face Timberwolves (#5) in Vienna in the next round. Piraten will play on the road against Raiders (#3) in Innsbruck and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
