The most surprising game was the first loss ofBC Vienna (3-1) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Gmunden Swans (2-1) 93-82 . It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of BC Vienna. Gmunden shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Daniel Friedrich (181-1992) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and American forward Jerome Hunter (203-1999, college: Xavier, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) who added 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international center Rasid Mahalbasic (210-1990) responded with 21 points and Italian-Bulgarian Borislav Mladenov (202-2000) scored 13 points. Five Gmunden and four Vienna players scored in double figures. Gmunden maintains fifth position with 2-1 record, which they share with Kapfenberg. Vienna at the other side still keeps top place with one game lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Gmunden is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Eisenstadt (#11) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Vienna will play against Wels (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
