Regular Season Round 5: Vienna - Wels 71-73

Date: October 20, 2025
The biggest surprise of round 5 was guest Wels' (4-1) road victory over Vienna (#5) 73-71 on Monday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels forced 19 BC Vienna turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Chris Rollins (198-1999, college: UAFS) who scored 27 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Marcus Azor (188-2000, college: UMass Dartmouth) chipped in 23 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Italian-Bulgarian Borislav Mladenov (202-2000) produced 25 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 blocks and added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. BC Vienna's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Wels keep a position of league leader, which they share with Klosterneuburg and Oberwart. Vienna at the other side keeps the fifth place with two games lost. Wels is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Eisenstadt (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vienna will play against the league's second-placed Klosterneuburg (#2) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
