There was a minor upset in Stara Zagora where 6th rankedBotev (5-6) was defeated by eighth ranked Beroe (5-6) 84-74 on Friday. Beroe made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Brett Reed (204-1996, college: St.Martin's) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import forward Daylen Williams (203-2001, college: UTRGV) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Beroe's coach Daniel Klechkov used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Georgi Gerganov (192-2003) who recorded 28 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and American center David Haughton (201-1991, college: Purchase) added 17 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Beroe moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Minyor 2015 and Botev.
