Regular Season Round 16: Botev - Akademik P. 92-72

There was no surprise in Vratsa where 9th rankedAkademik (5-11) was crushed by sixth ranked Botev (7-8) 92-72 on Saturday. Botev made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Georgi Gerganov (192-2003) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 9 assists and point guard Mihail Kalinov (184-2007) who added 20 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Botev players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international Nikolay Mihaylov (204-2000, agency: BIG) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and Bosnian center Obrad Tomic (208-1993, agency: PEPI SPORT) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Botev maintains sixth position with 7-8 record, which they share with Minyor 2015. Loser Akademik P. keeps the ninth place with 11 games lost.
