The most surprising game was another loss of top-rankedBalkan (18-5) in Botevgrad on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Spartak Pleven (11-11) 82-75 . Spartak Pleven outrebounded Balkan 39-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. American point guard Jalan McCloud (180-1995, college: ETSU, agency: Helping Ballers) orchestrated the victory by scoring 40 points (!!!). His fellow American import center Noel Brown (211-2000, college: St.Bonaventure) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American forward Tajh Green (203-1998, college: Benedict) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and international point guard Konstantin Toshkov (186-2002, agency: BIG) added 13 points and 7 assists in the effort for Balkan. Balkan's coach Vasil Hristov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Spartak Pleven have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Botev. Balkan at the other side dropped to the second position with five games lost.
