There was a small surprise when sixth rankedBotev (14-11) beat one of their biggest challengers Lokomotiv Pl. (15-10) in Plovdiv 98-90 on Sunday. Botev looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. International guard Georgi Gerganov (192-2003) notched 24 points and 8 assists to lead the effort and American power forward Courtney Alexander (203-1997, college: Tenn Tech) supported him with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 32 points and 12 assists by American point guard Grant Singleton (183-2000, college: FDU, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Lokomotiv Pl. . Tomislav Minkov (197-2001) added 17 points for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Botev have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Spartak Pleven. Lokomotiv Pl. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth position with ten games lost.
