Regular Season Round 18: Enosis - Keravnos 62-76

Very significant was Keravnos' (#1, 16-2) victory against 4th ranked Enosis (8-10) 76-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Enosis. The game was mostly controlled by Keravnos. Enosis managed to win second period 23-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Keravnos forced 23 Enosis turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Kenny Barker (191-86, college: Alaska-Anch.) who scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Power forward Terell Parks (204-91, college: W.Illinois) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Keravnos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Eric Washington (178-93, college: Miami, OH) who recorded 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) and guard Gerry Blakes (193, college: Arizona St.) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Enosis' coach Nikolas Papadopoulos rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Keravnos maintains first position with 16-2 record. Loser Enosis keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. Keravnos will meet at home bottom-ranked Apollon (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Enosis will play against the league's second-placed AEK in Larnaca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
