Regular Season Round 9: Enosis - Apoel 77-76

The most exciting game of round 9 in the Division A took place in Paralimni. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Apoel (4-4) to fifth ranked Enosis (3-5) 77-76 on Wednesday evening. Enosis forced 21 Apoel turnovers. It was a good game for American guard Teyvon Myers (188-94, college: W.Virginia) who saved his team from a defeat with 16 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Anthony Hickey (180-92, college: Oklahoma St., agency: Alti Sport) contributed with 17 points, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winners. American power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Vassilis Kounas (194-84) added 13 points and 7 assists in the effort for Apoel. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Enosis maintains fifth place with 3-5 record. Apoel at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Enosis are looking forward to face Apollon (#6) in Limassol in the next round. Apoel will play at home against APOP and is hoping to win this game.
