Regular Season Round 1: Keravnos - Apollon 106-69

Keravnos used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Limassol 106-69 on Tuesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Keravnos. Apollon managed to win fourth quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Keravnos dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Apollon's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Apollon's players. The former international forward Ioannis Pasiali (202-1997) stepped up and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Shavar Reynolds Jr. (188-1998, college: Monmouth, agency: Haylett Sports) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. Four Keravnos players scored in double figures. Keravnos' coach Michalis Kakiouzis felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard New Williams (185-1996, college: Fresno St., agency: BMS Sport Agency) responded with 31 points and 4 assists and the other American import forward Walter Williams (196-1997, college: Virginia St.) scored 19 points. Keravnos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Nicosia to the arena PAEEK.
