Regular Season Round 8: Keravnos - Apoel 88-86

First defeat of league's leaderApoel (6-1) against fourth ranked Keravnos (6-1) 88-86 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Apoel. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-18 . But Apoel won second period 25-23 . However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American center Travis Taylor (203-1990, college: Xavier, agency: Slash Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import point guard Shavar Reynolds Jr (188-1998, college: Monmouth, agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with 19 points and 7 assists for the winners. American forward Jayveous McKinnis (201-1999, college: Ole Miss) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Ioannis Giannaras (187-1999) added 21 points in the effort for Apoel. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Apoel's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Keravnos keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Apoel and AEK Larnaca.
