The biggest surprise of round 1 in Dameligaen took place in Copenhagen where hostFalcon beat Aabyhoj 65-59 on Saturday evening. 27 personal fouls committed by Aabyhoj helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Spanish point guard Ines Margarit (165-1998) fired 13 points for the winners. Forward Katrine Lassen (180-1999) chipped in 3 points and 12 rebounds. The former international center Caroline Wich (185-1996, college: Portland St.) produced 22 points (made all of her eight free throws) and forward Laura Pedersen (184-2006) added 7 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
